Conversion TSHD 'Zeeburg'

Client: Van Ouwerkerk BV

Type vessel: Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger

Date: 2022

This former cargo vessel has been converted into a Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger at the Holland Shipyards yard in Hardinxveld-Giessendam. The project compromised several extensive work procedures, such as modifications to the hull, an enlargement of the accommodation in the aft ship and the installation of all necessary dredging equipment.

The ship’s hold has been adapted to create space for the pump room and generator room. These new sections were necessary to install the new sand pump, jet pumps, hydraulic installation and the generators.

The screening installation is a joint engineered system by Zand- & Grindhandel Van Ouwerkerk BV and Holland Shipyards, custom made for this vessel.

The dredging conveyor system allows the vessel to load two types of material in one load, making her a really versatile vessel. Furthermore an in-house engineered and built side loading system has been installed.

Holland Shipyards Dredging equipped the TSHD Zeeburg with a TVD-SP-DN 700 suction pipe installation with a dredging depth of 30 metres.
